This program is wonderful! We were so nervous at first but this turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience! After my son received his passing grade, he literally was dancing in the living room! He gained self discipline, confidence and computer experience as well as retained knowledge in this course. I hope that other students and parents have similar experiences and success like we did with this course. We will definitely utilize this again for future classes.

My son took your online history course this summer and ended up passing with a “B”. I’m very proud of him for taking on this challenge and I think he has learned that he is rather good at this type of learning. He won’t admit it but he was scared to death to take this course. I think he could have applied himself a lot more but for his first online course, I think he did rather well. He was denied summer school unless he went this route and if he hadn’t taken this class, he would have had trouble with his class schedule next year. This class was a God send for us!!

I just wanted to give you a little parent feedback. I found the parent porthole to be extremely helpful. I was actually able to view what my son was doing and get on him for what he wasn’t doing. I wish I could do this at his high school. It’s so hard to keep an eye on his progress and know when to step in. And sometimes it’s too late by the time you realize things aren’t getting done.
Parent: I must say, I was skeptical at first but I found myself to be extremely impressed with this virtual school. I believe that many students will benefit from this resource and I wish we would have had this earlier. For my son, the biggest benefit was being able to be flexible with his work load. He is not the most attentive at 7:00am but he is at 9:00pm. This was huge in his success in this class. With all of the budget cuts in education, we are lucky to have something like this to keep our kids on track.
Parent:
What a great teacher! This is something we will definitely do again!! What I like the best…my child actually gained more self discipline from this experience, which was definitely needed!!

My son took his first RVS course this summer to makeup a semester of English credit. I was concerned that he would not be able to do such an accelerated workload with his learning disability (he has dyslexia with dysgraphia). I am so pleased to have been wrong. Although the workload was quite a challenge, having clear written instructions and a place to make sure work was turned in was a blessing. Having grades posted so he could track his progress was also a huge plus for him as well. Many times during the traditional school year, I have trouble getting teachers to respond to progress report requests until Michael is too far behind to “catch up”. Thank you for all the work you, your staff and the many teachers that work with RVS do. I could not have been more pleased with Michael’s experience this summer.

My daughter is currently a junior at a local high school and she is also enrolled in the RVS Algebra II online class. She took Algebra II in the fall of 2007 at her on-site high school and failed the class; she has always had problems with math. However, she has had great success in the online class. She has taken her grade from an “F” to an “A”. This online program has been a great thing for her, not only to bring her grade up but to show her that she can be successful in a subject that has challenged her over the years.

What is accreditation?
Accreditation is a voluntary dual-purpose process that schools (1) must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning opportunities and (2) clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement.
An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students' performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; it plans for the future...More Info
